My Story
My story reads like the words of a well-known Charles Dickens novel… “it was the best of times; it was the worst of times”. In other words, I have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I have never defined my life by any of my accomplishments. Rather, my life can be best understood by my resilience in the face of the unbearable lows.
I have been truly blessed to experience some pretty spectacular highs— mother to four of the most incredible human beings on the planet, a 25-year career doing the work I love, CEO of 2 successful businesses and a 30-year marriage to my college sweetheart, which by the way leads us into the whole highest of the highs and lowest of the lows conundrum.
For the first time in 30 years, I found myself having to reclassify one of my highest highs (30 years of marriage to my college sweetheart) to the very lowest of lows. If you have ever found yourself clinging to the torn, frayed pages of your Plan A when you never dreamed you would need a Plan B—then you can understand my predicament.
The crafting of my Plan B proved to be some of the most difficult and painful work I have done. Life is all about obstacles—but in those obstacles lie our greatest opportunities for growth and victory. So, I picked up the fragments of what I used to call my life and started the daunting work of piecing myself and my children back together. I had NO hope that my life could be better—I was simply praying that it would be bearable. But God had another plan!
As I found myself buried and crushed beneath the pain of rejection, betrayal, and the embarrassment of what became the horrible breakup and breakdown of my family, the seeds of resilience, optimism, and greatness that had been pushed down and smothered for 3 decades began to sprout…and then grow…and then blossom…and now has FINALLY emerged!!
Today, I am empowered and have evolved and emerged into the woman that I was destined to become. I turned my pain into purpose, rejection into redirection, and betrayal into breakthrough. I am inspired to help other women who have given up on themselves and their dreams to reclaim their personal power, unlock their potential, pursue their purpose, and live the incredible, abundant lives that they were created to live…happy, fulfilled, and RICH!!!
